Jennavieve graduated from the University of Florida in December 2023 with a B.S. in Anthropology and a certificate in Medical Anthropology. During this program, she completed an honors thesis and gave two oral presentations on dental sac development in Aotus nancymaae with the DeLeon Lab. She developed an interest in bioarcheology and mortuary archaeology through her field lab experience in Ordorheiu Secuiesc, Romania. Her research interests focus on health disparities using an intersectional approach.
My name is Savana Jackson, and I am from Pascagoula, Mississippi. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Alabama with a major in Anthropology and a minor in Forensic Science. I am so excited to be pursuing my master’s degree in Applied Anthropology with a focus in Bioarchaeology here at Mississippi State. Go Dawgs!
My name is Emily Hale. I am from Tucson, Arizona and I did my undergraduate studies at University of Arizona. I am my masters is in Applied Anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology. I am interested in trade across the Near East and Mediterranean Basin.
Mariah graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in Religious Studies and from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in Anthropology. She is interested in using geographic information systems and remote sensing, specifically ground penetrating radar, magnetometry, and LiDAR data in archaeological investigations. Additional interests include geoarchaeology, landscape archaeology, and public outreach.
Kiersten Gilmore is a current master's student from Panama City, Florida. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Mississippi State University in May of 2024, after working on the Mississippi Repository for Missing and Unidentified Persons under Dr. Jesse Goliath. She is continuing her education at MSU focusing in Forensic Anthropology with research interests in Skeletal Identification, Trauma Analysis, and Medical Devices in Forensic contexts.
Elizabeth attended The University of Tulsa where she received a B.A. in anthropology with a minor in history. She is currently studying bioarchaeology with Dr. Anna Osterholtz. Elizabeth’s interests include atypical mortuary practices and interpersonal violence.
Morgan is from Versailles, Kentucky and graduated with her B.S. in Anthropology with minors in Criminal Justice and Creative Writing from the University of Louisville in 2024. She is interested in bioarchaeology and forensic anthropology, particularly in approaching both from a biocultural perspective with an emphasis on community/advocate involvement in osteological research.
