Kate graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Anthropology and a double minor in Archaeology and Asian studies. As an undergrad she worked on various archaeological sites in Tennessee and Kentucky, including the USN site, Glass Mounds, Phil Stratton site, and Black Cat Cave. In addition to field work, she was a lab assistant at MTSU for two years, analyzing faunal remains. Her primary research interests include zooarchaeology, GIS, and shell mounds.
